BarAmigo’s two pesos –A dodo at the bar area on a Saturday night

When visited – Sat 9 Apr 7.30pm to 8.30pm

Woolshed Pub is a fine dining restaurant with a bar area simply attached to the back. The large cavernous area at the back (hence the “shed”) is a nice area but pity there’s hardly anyone around to actually enjoy it.

It’s always hard heading out around Docklands. Annoying to get there and annoying to get out. Cab or a rather long walk are your only options unless you can work out the trams. I can picture Woolshed Pub being a lovely place to sit outside with a drink during summer time. There are plenty of outdoor patio areas with tables to sit at which would be great on a warm summer afternoon or evening. Being at Central Pier, it should get some sun.

Unfortunately its about 18 degrees and raining so we won’t be sitting outside. We’re left to enjoy the delights of barely anyone inside. At least we have the choice of the armchair and lounge areas.

The crowd that is here are mid 30s plus couples. They seem to be here having a quiet drink either before or after dinner. Besides that there’s one other group who are in their mid to late 20s.

At 8pm the DJ starts up playing funk. Surely he must be frustrated that no one is around to listen to him. It’s not like the place will get busy anytime soon. The DJ is actively flicking stuff around on the controls… I’m no DJ but we all agree that it simply is CDs playing… what is he doing?

$11 for a Fat Yak pint. Carlton, Asahi and Kronenbourg also on tap. Can’t believe I haven’t mentioned the TV yet… massive. Apparently 108 inch.

I’m talking about the TV so you can see how exciting the night was… In the hour that we were here we see many people battle through the rain to head across towards Alumbra. Maybe it’s time we headed out of here and went somewhere else.
