Hit up Brunswick Green, check out the beer garden and you won’t be disappointed. Perfect for that warm summer’s evening and to catch up with your friends.
So I ask my mate where we’re heading out tonight? Brunswick St is the answer… It’s only when we meet up on Brunswick St that I’m told we’re actually heading out to Brunswick… hmm… not exactly what was expected but all good and something different.
Brunswick Green is our first stop for what is meant to be a mini pub crawl. I’ve never been so have no idea what to expect. Don’t be mistaken by the small shop front. It’s one of those many venues on Sydney road that seem to extend off the street far further than expected.
The front bar at Brunswick Green is full of music memorabilia… hence full of character that you’re not going to get around the likes of Richmond and South Yarra. Not that we have much time to take it all in as it’s not long before it’s our turn to order our drinks. Beers on tap include Coopers Pale Ale and Mountain Goat High Tale. Good to have a couple of Aussie owned options. Pints are under $10 so good value for money. Ah that’s right… I’m not dealing with city prices.
Moving towards the beer garden there’s various lounge areas which are filled with patrons. Hardly surprising given how comfy the couches look. These lounges sum up the mood of the place… chilled and easy going. Enjoy a drink with your mates and don’t bother moving… unless it’s to grab another drink.
Always love a good beer garden and Brunswick Green is no exception. Extensive, plenty of places to sit and large enough tables for those bigger groups. It’s filling up but nothing too busy. Voice noise isn’t ridiculous and it’s great to have a chat to your friends.
Crowd wise its getting kinda hipster but really nothing too over the top. Most casually dressed with guys in t shirts and jeans. Chicks mostly in jeans but some in dresses which is kinda expected with the warmth. You won’t find too many high heels over here at Brunswick Green.
Age of the crowd is mid 20s through late 30s. Quite diverse but nothing too different from my expectations.
Rocking up at 10.15pm you’re still right to find a table out the back. But if you are part of a larger group you may wanna turn up a bit earlier to bag that larger table.
11.30pm and it’s time for us to move on. Hitting up Penny Black… might as well hit up a couple of places whilst out this way and start the mini pub crawl. Really should try to head out in Brunswick more often.
Have a beer at Brunswick Green in a beer garden that won’t disappoint. Chilled, relaxed and plenty of space. What more could you want from this kind of venue.
Salud
Eddie
