BarAmigo’s two pesos – small cosy club which is decent fun late at night

When visited – Sat night 28 Jul 2012 1.30am to 2.45am
Cover charge $5

Cushion Lounge is rather random but good to tear up that dancefloor late on a Saturday evening (or sun morning). Small and cosy club but there’s certainly space to bust out those moves.

The dancefloor at Cushion Lounge about 1.45am on a Saturday night

We definitely have our beer goggles on at Cushion Lounge so make sure you have yours on whilst reading this reveiw. We’ve hit up Somewhere Bar and Secret Garden beforehand and are now making use of a $50 drink card provided by Cushion Lounge.

It’s 1.30am and we don’t wanna pay too much cover where we have a $50 drink card. The tight arse in me is coming out. $5 each so not too bad. We’ll still get $25 value out of our drink card. And I don’t think we could be bothered moving elsewhere at that time.

Cushion Lounge isn’t that busy at 1.30am. Given it’s a small cosy club I’d thought it be rather busy. But there’s plenty of space to dance so get your dance shoes on and bust a move.

But before hitting the dancefloor we’re grabbing a drink. Priorities ok. $43 gets 3 scotches, a vodka apple and a schooner of beer. Average of just over $8 so rather standard but again a bit on the high side.

The DJ and dancefloor at Cushion Lounge

Crowd at Cushion Lounge is rather random. There’s chicks in heels and short skirts, chicks making out then groups of guys. Maybe our memories are just too sketchy to remember what’s going on. Generally early to mid 20s crowd. But I wouldn’t trust us at this time of night. It’s dimly lit inside so not the greatest to check out the crowd. Yes… making lame excuses.

Cushion Lounge builds itself as a place to dance the night away and that’s exactly what we’re doing. Easy to mingle, dance and really don’t care about what else is happening. Commercial dance music and an atmosphere to suit. Random Red Hot Chilli Peppers remix is one track that I remember.  Easy to get moving.

The scene feels busy which I’m putting down to the music. Pumping which is what you need for a club. If only there were a few more people around. But still it’s nice to have that space for a change.

Apparently Cushion Lounge does cheap decent food through the week. Maybe an idea to check out. Not sure where people really sit though.

2.45am and really need to go. Tomorrow is going to be a write off.

Check out Cushion Lounge to dance the night away.
