BarAmigo’s two pesos –Fantastic value happy hour… every day during October 2012 (or maybe longer… not too sure though)

When visited – Sat 20 Oct 6pm to 6.30pm

Gotta love Father’s Office simply cause of the daily happy hour specials from 5-7pm and 8-10pm. It will make for a very cheap night indeed. Half price drinks except for tab beer, top shelf spirits and cocktails… Who is going to complain about that?

The bar at Father's Office... pretty quiet at 6pm on a Saturday

$11 for two beers (Samual Adams and Negra Modelo) and a gin and tonic. Bargain! Must be the cheapest 3 drinks I’ve bought at a bar for a very very long time. You gotta wonder how they make any money if they are selling drinks at these prices. Such was the popularity that Father’s Office sold out of various bottled beers the night before. To give you an idea of the prices you’re looking at $8 for a Tiger Beer on tap and about $14-$19 for a cocktail.

Apparently Father’s Office only opened sometime September 2012. You’d think the happy hour specials would readily draw the punters to Father’s Office. But its actually really quiet at the moment. Probably 20 people around at most. Well I guess it is 6pm on a Saturday and it is in the city. My friends were here on a Friday and they say it was really packed. Plenty of people making use of the happy hour specials for a cheap night on the booze.

The outdoor area at Father's Office. Plenty of standing room and will be good during summer

Father’s Office is where the old Match Bar used to be. Generally only slight tweaks to what Match Bar was but just enough so that Father’s Office still has that feeling like it is a different venue. Best addition is all the tap beers. 4 constants with heaps of others on a rotating basis. Will be good for those craft beer lovers. Can see myself coming back to sample the beers when happy hour isn’t on.

I’d expect the crowd to be similar to Match Bar. Corporate but pretty easy going through the week. Packed on Fridays with those casual clothes dressed workers in the area and some of the younger uni student crowd cause of the drinks specials.

Another good thing about the change at Father’s Office is the minimalist furniture outside. Very spacious and creates heaps of space for all the punters in the evening. Will be good on those balmy summer evenings. Plenty of standing room.

Half price food from 11pm to 1am… Will be dangerous when you’re feeling peckish but shouldn’t really be drinking anymore… But again no one is going to complain.

Only here at Father’s Office for a quick drink. Good stop after checking out the Caulfield Cup. Time to hit up dumplings in Chinatown to line the stomach…

Hit up Father’s Office for a cheap drink (provided happy hour is still going) and some cheap food late at night. Look forward to trying out the craft beers.

Salud
